A wonderful cafe. The cakes were delicious, the beef stew was outstanding as was vegetarian sourdough tomato/mushroom/ dish. The cafe had a lovely relaxed vibe, warm, cozy & very welcoming. T he staff were friendly & efficient . Couldn't fault it ,will definitely be back.
Honestly obsessed with Malt House Café. The food slaps every single time like, zero misses. I got their special burger and it was so good I considered ordering a second one just because. The staff are also ridiculously nice?? Everyone’s just chill and actually seems happy to be there, which makes the whole experience feel extra good. And the vibe, elite. Cozy, cute, not pretentious at all. Perfect spot to grab brunch with friends or just hide with a coffee and pretend you’re getting work done. Highly recommend. Already planning my next visit.
The Malthouse Café was an absolute treasure on my bikepacking trip through UK. The staff was very friendly although I entered the café pretty wet & dirty after cycling 2 hours in the rain. I could warm up with a tea and delicious cinnamon roll in a very lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend this cute place!
Loved this place! The Malthouse Café is such a cozy little spot in Monmouth. The vibe is warm and welcoming, with a modern but relaxed feel that makes you want to stay a while. The coffee is smooth and delicious, and the pastries taste super fresh — perfect with a flat white. I tried the sourdough with mushrooms and balsamic tomatoes, and it was honestly one of the tastiest breakfasts I’ve had in ages. Everything was cooked perfectly and felt really thoughtful. The staff are lovely — friendly, attentive, and you can tell they genuinely care about making people feel at home. It’s the kind of place where you can pop in for a quick bite or settle in for a chilled afternoon.
Lovely place that welcomes dogs too. Popped in for some lunch and coffee. We had decaf flat white which was really good (they are hard to find). To eat, we had a deli sandwich which was made fresh, substantial, and tasted awesome. Also bought a treat for the dog so he wasn’t left out, which was delivered with the coffee and food. Nice relaxed atmosphere, and very welcoming staff.
A tiny diner in an alleyway, where your phone cannot even receive a signal, but none of that matters! The staff are welcoming and the best Nan's Cawl (lamb stew) can be found. Dogs are welcome too

The best sausage roll I’ve ever had! Served with a lovely fresh salad. Very reasonably priced and the staff were fantastic. Very dog friendly, this place was wonderful
